SNAP
For decades, this program was called “Food Stamps.” In 2008, in efforts to fight stigma, the name was changed to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Source: USDA.gov Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a person to use a debit card (looks like a visa card) to buy groceries.
WIC
Women Infants and Children (WIC) is a federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants, and children.
